Essentially, the integrity of the grain is stripped and the grain loses it's nutrients and those slow digesting layers. So, when you eat the altered grain, you are getting ZERO nutrition and sending your blood sugar on an upword spike! Because of this, repeatedly consuming refined carbs will cause weight gain and metabolic disorders.
